Dr. Chad Lawson purchased his first optometric practice in 2001. He bought the practice formerly owned by Dr. Raymond Roy Jr. on Cornell Road. After renaming the practice to Cornell Eyecare, Dr. Lawson continued working and learning under Dr. Roy for the next 10 years.
In 2012 Dr. Lawson purchased his second location in downtown Portland, Golden Optical. Golden Optical, located in the historic Charles F. Berg building on SW Broadway, was primarily an optical boutique specializing in luxury eyewear. Being downtown and part of the vibrant Portland culture was a wonderful experience. However, COVID-19 and the political riots of 2020-2021 contributed to the difficult decision to close the Golden location permanently.
In 2016, Dr. Lawson opened his third location in Bethany Village, Bethany Optical. Serving the community and forming lasting relationships are vitally important to Dr. Lawson and his staff.
This is my optician of choice. Everyone at the store is warm and patient. They figured out my insurance before I was there and the wait time to get my glasses back was about two weeks, pretty fast.
